We are proud members of RMAC and were present at the following event:

RMAC Hosts Legislative Breakfast

Members of the newly-formed Raw Milk Association of Colorado (RMAC) hosted a
breakfast for legislators, Jan. 12, at the Colorado state capitol.  RMAC
used the opportunity to thank legislators for support of the previous year's
legislation, which put into law the consumer's right to obtain raw milk
through cow or goat shares with local farmers.

RMAC's presence at the capitol also was a first step in establishing
credibility of the organization and, by association, the raw milk sector.
Hand outs distributed at the event listed RMAC objectives of:
1)establishing guidelines for production and distribution of raw milk;
2)providing outreach to new producers; 3)educating consumers; and 4)organization a raw milk network.

A computer displayed RMAC's website www.rawmilkcolorado.org, which features
the objectives as well as other information on the association, RMAC member
dairy information, standards, and the advantages of raw milk.

RMAC members attending the breakfast had an opportunity to display their
brochures and business cards and provide legislators and their aides with
free raw milk samples, including milk, cream, candies and homestead cheeses.
The breakfast also provided members with a forum to discuss their product
with the state's lawmakers.

Chef Anthony Polakowski, from Renaissance Chocolates, served breakfast
burritos made by fellow Chef Carrie Balkcom, along with chocolate caramels
he created using raw milk from RMAC member Meg Catell.  Both chefs donated
their time to prepare and feature the food served.

"This was a fantastic opportunity for RMAC members to put a positive and
professional face on raw milk," said David Lynch, interim RMAC director.  "I
am so proud of our producers for accomplishing so much in such a short
time."

During the breakfast, RMAC also presented appreciation plaques to Sen. Steve
Johnson, who sponsored the bill last May, and to Attorney James Dean, who
proposed the language for the bill.
